Anna Sagalova is a Ukrainian-Canadian concert pianist, Honoured Artist of Ukraine, and Doctor of Arts, internationally recognized for her expressive artistry, refined musicianship, and dedication to promoting Ukrainian music. Based in Canada since 2022, she has established an active performing career as a soloist, chamber musician, educator, and artistic collaborator.

Anna studied with People’s Artist of Ukraine Professor T. B. Vyerkina at the I. P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts in Kharkiv and completed postgraduate studies with Professor G. Otto at the University of Music Franz Liszt in Weimar, Germany. She later earned a Doctor of Arts degree from the I. P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts in Kharkiv.

A laureate of numerous international piano competitions, Anna has performed extensively throughout Europe and Asia and has appeared as a soloist with leading symphony orchestras in Ukraine. Her repertoire ranges from the major works of the classical and romantic traditions to contemporary music, with a particular commitment to bringing Ukrainian repertoire to international audiences.

Since relocating to Canada, Anna has developed an active performing career as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. She has collaborated with Canadian orchestras and arts organizations including the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra, Kingston Symphony, Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, Soundstreams, Ottawa Chamberfest, Pickle Underground, and others. Her Canadian performances have included major works of the piano repertoire as well as contemporary and Ukrainian music, reflecting her interest in connecting established repertoire with the music of today.

An important part of Anna’s artistic work is her collaboration with contemporary composers. She has performed and championed works by Ukrainian and Canadian composers, contributing to projects that introduce new music and Ukrainian musical culture to wider audiences.

Alongside her performing career, Anna is a dedicated and highly experienced piano educator. With more than two decades of teaching experience, she has worked with students ranging from young beginners to advanced pianists preparing for professional careers. Her students have received awards at national and international competitions and have performed at prestigious venues in Canada, the United States, and Europe.

Before moving to Canada, Anna taught at the I. P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts in Kharkiv. In Canada, she continues her teaching and pedagogical work in British Columbia, combining the traditions of the European piano school with an individualized approach to each student.

Through performance, education, and artistic collaboration, Anna remains committed to sharing Ukrainian musical culture internationally while building meaningful connections between Ukrainian, Canadian, and broader European musical traditions.
